MIDLAND, MI (December 1, 2014) – Maru Sushi & Grill will open in Midland’s East End facility during the summer of 2015, becoming the popular restaurant’s fourth Michigan location.  Specializing  in  Japanese  fare  that  is  rooted  in  traditional  techniques  and  contemporary elegance, Maru will add to the diversity of dining options in downtown Midland  and  within  East  End  itself,  which  opened  in  June  2014  across  from  Dow  Diamond.

“To become part of Midland’s growth, particularly within a prominent new development like  East  End,  is  an  exciting  opportunity,”  said  Robert  Song,  president  of  Maru  Hospitality Group. “We look forward to joining the community, particularly one where the people are so well traveled and appreciate worldly tastes. We think they will enjoy Maru’s dishes and distinct style.”

Maru Sushi & Grill will be East End’s second restaurant, following the recent opening of State  Street,  which  offers  more  Western-‐style  fare  such  as  paninis  and  soups.  With  several  other  business  tenants  already  moved  in,  the  addition  will  bring  the  facility  to near capacity. The four-‐story East End was co-‐developed by Lansing-‐based commercial real estate development companies Gillespie Group and Caddis Development Group.

“Less than a year after East End’s grand opening, it’s great to already be announcing the addition of another tenant and another wonderful dining option for the area,” said Pat Gillespie, president of Gillespie Group. “East End has become a vital part of Midland’s business  and  cultural  backdrop  –  not  just  for  the  people  who  work  there,  but  for  the  many who frequent the area regularly. We’re proud of its growth and proud to welcome Maru into the fold.”

Maru  Sushi  &  Grill’s  other  locations  include  Grand  Rapids,  Okemos  and  East  Lansing.  Learn more at
